Day 01

Monkey Island

Arrival to Puerto Maldonado, the biodiversity capital of Peru. After a reception at the airport, you will take a ride for the city on our ecological bus, finishing at the Port Captaincy to start a trip by the River Madre de Dios. During the trip we can observe on the banks to Caymans, turtles, herons and other species of animals.
Arriving to the Ecoamazonia Lodge, it will be served an exquisite welcome swig. Then will come the installation in our bungalows and later the lunch.
In the afternoon accompanied by our specialized guide, you will visit the first and only place in the heart of the River Madre de Dios, that is the Monkey Island, at 5 minutes of distance from the Lodge. During the walk you will observe extraordinary landscapes with an exuberant flora, that shelters a great variety of species of monkeys in their natural habitat, just as "maquisapas", "martín", "leoncitos", "frailes", "achuñis", etc. and a great diversity of birds. You will complete the visit to the island enjoying the setting of the sun being the twilight in the forest a very impressive sight. Then we will return to the Lodge to complete the day with a pleasant dinner.


Day 02

Lake Apu Victor

We will wake up with the beautiful songs of birds, and after having breakfast begins our walking to the depths of the Amazon forest, through specially prepared trails, with bridges to cross the gulches. During the walk we will observe the Cave of the Caymans. Continuing we will arrive at the majestic Lake Apu Victor, of crystalline waters and surrounded of immense swamps and gigantic trees. Later on we will ascend to our Amazon Watch Tower, where we will enjoy the panorama of the lake; observing Parrots, Macaws, Toucans, Horned Screamers, Hoatzins, Herons and other animals such as Caymans, Turtles and if the luck accompanies us we will be able to observe one of the most spectacular animals in the forest, the Giant Amazon Otter. After several hours we will return to the Lodge to have lunch. In the afternoon after going for a trip in canoe by the river, we will visit to a local family. Finally, it will be the return to the Lodge to have dinner.

Puerto Maldonado / Out

Ecodaventure Briolo / Gamita River
4 Days/ 3 Nights

Day 01

Monkey Island

Day 02

Lost Cocha

After breakfast we begin an adventure through the virgin forest and accompanied by a local guide, we will go on foot to the Lost Cocha, which is a refuge ecosystem and feeding to an immense variety of animals like otters, Caymans, turtles, "sachavacas", birds of colorful plumage, the majestic jaguar and diverse fishes. This area is a unique characteristic of the Ecoamazonía Reserve, because it still stays intact, with its immense swamps and marshes. Then we will arrive to the extraordinary Amazonian Watch Tower, built in the summit of an immense tree, the "Shihuahuaco", from where you can appreciate the magic forest. Likewise, we will go for a pleasant walk in canoe around the lake. Then we will return to the Lodge to have lunch. In the afternoon there will be a trip in canoe by the river and then a visit to a local family.

Finally, it comes the return and the dinner.
 

Day 03

Gamitana river or Briolo river
 
First breakfast. At suitable hour we will begin another trip for the magic forest navigating by the River Madre de Dios until arriving to the beginning of the path that leads us to the Gamitana river or the Briolo river. These rivers are born from the inermost virgin forest and their impressive serpentine courses form extensive navigable channels by where we will return in canoe, appreciating animals, at arm length, just as turtles, Caymans, butterflies and a great variety of insects. Likewise we will practice fishing and give ourselves a plunge into the crystalline waters of the Gamitana river. Finally it will be the return to the Lodge to have dinner.

Puerto Maldonado  / out

Ecological Lost Cocha

Day 03

Real Palm

After breakfast, you will travel on the Madre de Dios River for approximately 2 hours, where you will see a variety of flora and fauna along the way. Later, you will arrive at the indigenous Amazon community of Palma Real – a semicivilized group of people living in the rainforest who still practice ancient customs, rituals, and who follow jungle myths. These native huarayos and their land are filled with ancient secrets. The people of Palma Real are dedicated to fishing, hunting and gathering, and selling their original native artwork. With our expert guide you will learn about their life and how they mark they mark their time using the sun, the moon, and the water.
Their message is that humans, plants, animals, and rivers are integrated into one world. You will then travel by boat around the area of Palma Real and enjoy the natural beauty of the landscape while enjoying lunch onboard. Finally, you will return to the lodge for dinner.
